Causes of kidneys Damaged by damage to small blood vessels (glomeruli) in the kidneys that filter or filter out impurities and excess water in the blood. Glomeruli that are needed in the blood proteins (especially albumin) are needed for the amount needed in the body. If damaged, the glomeruli are taken in the amount of protein in the blood out of the body through urine.

Keep in mind there are various types of diseases and other health conditions that can be the cause of leaky kidneys, including:
1. Segal or focal glomerulosclerosis
It is a condition in which scar tissue forms in the glomeruli. About 10% of nephrotic syndrome is caused by this condition. Scarring may be caused by a genetic disorder or due to other chronic diseases.
2. Membranous nephropathy or membranous glomerulonephritis
This disease causes thickening of the membrane glomeruli and is a cause of leaky kidneys that are common in adults.
3. Minimal changes in the glomeruli
It is called a minimal change because the kidney condition looks normal when seen under a microscope, but there is a slight change in the glomeruli which causes protein leakage. Although uncertain, the cause of minimal changes in the glomeruli is thought to be caused by a disruption in the immune system. It is estimated that about 90 percent of nephrotic syndrome in children is caused by this disease.
Leaky Kidney Symptoms
The main symptoms of this leaky nephrotic or kidney syndrome are four, namely:
Exit protein through urine
Lack of albumin levels
The body swells
Increased cholesterol level
Under normal circumstances, the kidneys work as filters, so that proteins cannot get out of the body. If the body releases a lot of protein, automatically the protein content in the body decreases.
Meanwhile, albumin in the body has the property of holding fluid from the blood vessels. When the body lacks albumin, fluid easily seeps out of the blood vessels which causes the body to swell.
If this is the case, the body will make adjustments due to lack of albumin. One of them is by breaking down fat from the whole body, so that cholesterol levels rise.
Other Leaky Kidney Symptoms
In addition, there are some leaking kidney symptoms and physical changes that can indicate leaky nephrotic or kidney syndrome. Among others are:
1. Susceptible to infection
Antibodies are one type of protein in the blood that functions to fight infection. If the amount of protein in the blood decreases, the antibodies will also decrease in number so that the sufferer will be more susceptible to infection.
2. Triggers high blood pressure
The kidneys are one of the important organs that function to regulate blood pressure in the body. Disorders of the kidneys will be at risk for increasing a person's blood pressure. In addition, changes in the balance of proteins in the blood also contribute to the occurrence of high blood pressure.
