  • There are no studies that confirm the benefits of fruit juice for the diet as an effective detox means.
  • Your kidneys and liver have done the detoxification process naturally with or without drinking fruit juice.
  • There is a possibility of interaction with certain drugs if at the same time the culprit consumes the drug.
  • For example, fruits or vegetables rich in vitamin K such as spinach can affect the work of blood thinning drugs.
  • The body lacks protein which risks the loss of body muscle mass.

When making juice, we will need more fruit and vegetables, which means the concentration of certain substances will also increase. For example, beets and celery contain nitrates. When juiced, then the amount of nitrate produced will be greater than that obtained when eaten in full. Certain amounts of nitrate can reduce blood pressure. However, because of the effect of nitrate that dilates blood vessels, consuming them in high amounts will actually cause headaches.

While the juice that is sold on the market contains sugar and calories with high levels which actually risk increasing weight. In conclusion, consuming only fruit juice for a diet is not recommended because of its effect on the body. It is recommended to consume at least three to four servings of vegetables and two whole fruits of different colors to get different alloys of minerals and vitamins.
