The National Guard of Ukraine said Russian planes dropped aerial bombs on a military camp in Kharkiv on Saturday (5/3) evening local time.
Russian aircraft dropped heavy aerial bombs on the military camp of the 5th Slobozhansk Brigade on the evening of March 5. Four soldiers died, many were injured," the statement said.
The National Guard of Ukraine said members of the brigade then cleared debris from the attack. They are a combination of the Armed Forces, Territorial Defense, National Police, and Security Service.
Meanwhile, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) previously decided not to implement a no-fly zone in Ukraine because it was considered to trigger Russia to view the action as a war siren.
"We agreed that NATO aircraft should not operate in Ukrainian airspace or NATO forces should be in Ukraine," said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg as quoted by CNN, Sunday (6/3).
He stated that making Ukraine's skies a no-fly zone was not an option considered by the alliance.
This sparked protests from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said this would give Russia the green light to continue attacking Ukraine.
